By accessing and using HostMyEvent ("the Platform"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to these Terms & Conditions, please do not use our services.

2. Description of Service

HostMyEvent provides an online platform that connects event organisers with venue owners in Brighton & Hove. The Platform facilitates:

• Event creation and listing by organisers
• Venue browsing and offer submission by venue owners
• Communication between organisers and venues
• Event management tools and notifications

3. User Accounts

3.1 Registration

To access certain features, you must register for an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Maintain and update your information to keep it accurate
• Maintain the security of your password
• Accept all responsibility for activity under your account

3.2 Account Types

Event Organisers: Can create events, browse venue offers, and communicate with venues.

Venue Owners: Can browse events, submit offers, and communicate with organisers.

4. User Responsibilities

4.1 Event Organisers

• Provide accurate event details including date, guest count, and requirements
• Respond to venue offers in a timely manner
• Honor confirmed bookings and agreements made through the Platform
• Communicate any changes or cancellations promptly

4.2 Venue Owners

• Provide accurate venue information including capacity, facilities, and pricing
• Submit genuine offers that can be fulfilled
• Honor confirmed bookings made through the Platform
• Maintain venue standards as advertised

5. Bookings and Payments

HostMyEvent acts as a facilitator between organisers and venues. All financial agreements, contracts, and payments are made directly between the organiser and venue. HostMyEvent is not responsible for:

• Payment disputes between parties
• Cancellations or no-shows
• Refund policies (determined by individual venues)
• Quality of services provided

6. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

• Use the Platform for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Post false, inaccurate, or misleading information
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Attempt to circumvent the Platform to make direct bookings
• Copy, modify, or distribute Platform content without permission
• Use automated systems or software to extract data (scraping)
• Upload viruses or malicious code
• Impersonate any person or entity

7. Content Ownership

You retain ownership of content you post on the Platform (event descriptions, venue details, photos). By posting content, you grant HostMyEvent a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display your content for operating and promoting the Platform.

8. Intellectual Property

The Platform and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by HostMyEvent and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

9. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

9.1 Platform Availability

We strive to maintain the Platform but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend or discontinue any part of the Platform without notice.

9.2 User Interactions

HostMyEvent is not a party to agreements between organisers and venues. We are not responsible for:

• The conduct of users
• The quality or safety of venues
• The success or failure of events
• Disputes between users

9.3 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HostMyEvent shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless HostMyEvent from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for:

• Violation of these Terms
• Fraudulent or illegal activity
• Abuse of the Platform or other users
• Any reason at our sole discretion

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or Platform notification. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
